Cronos Labs Enhances Collaboration with Google Cloud as Node Operator
Cronos Labs strengthens its partnership with Google Cloud, onboarding the tech giant as a validator to enhance security and drive innovation in the ecosystem.
Cronos Labs, the driving force behind the Cronos ecosystem, has announced a strengthened partnership with Google Cloud by bringing the tech giant on board as a validator for the Cronos network.
Expanding the Partnership
In a recent press release, Cronos Labs highlighted that this collaboration will go beyond merely enhancing its accelerator program. Google Cloud will now serve as the primary cloud provider for the Cronos ecosystem, aiming to foster growth and innovation within the network.
With this advanced partnership, Google Cloud will join the ranks of 32 validators operating on the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) protocol of Cronos. This move is expected to boost developer engagement and maximize value creation for startups participating in the Cronos Labs Accelerator Program.
Benefits for the Ecosystem
Ken Timsit, managing director of Cronos Labs, emphasized the benefits of this collaboration:
- Enhanced Security and Reliability: The addition of Google Cloud as a validator will improve the overall security of the network.
- Attractiveness for Startups: The Cronos Accelerator program will become more appealing to new ventures.
- Innovation in Decentralized Applications: The partnership opens avenues for developing innovative decentralized applications using Google Cloud's advanced data processing, computing, and AI capabilities.
Google Cloud's involvement will contribute significantly to the stability and security of the Cronos network, aligning with Cronos' strategy of collaborating with open-source contributors that possess strong technical expertise. Notable contributors to the ecosystem include Crypto.com, Blockdaemon, and Ubisoft.
Driving Innovation
Cronos Labs utilizes Google Cloud services to support its Ethereum-based zero-knowledge EVM (zkEVM) layer-2 network. The enhanced partnership aims to highlight innovation at the intersection of blockchain and AI, encouraging developer adoption within the Cronos ecosystem.
Rishi Ramchandani, Head of Web3 APAC at Google Cloud, stated that Google Cloud is committed to Web3 and will collaborate with Cronos to equip developers with the necessary resources to create the next generation of decentralized applications. This includes leveraging Google Cloud’s secure infrastructure, advanced AI capabilities, and powerful data analytics tools.
As the partnership evolves, Cronos Labs and Google Cloud plan to co-host virtual hackathons, providing developers with hands-on experience in both AI and blockchain technologies.
